JOIN THE CWA TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

The CWA Fiber Technician Apprenticeship Program uses the school of thought regarding the andrological method for teaching adults for maximum effectiveness in teaching/learning. The belief that adult learners’ needs differ from younger learners guides our teaching and learning practices.

What does this mean for our students? This means that we provide training following best practices described through research on how adult learning occurs. In the classroom, we concentrate on skill-based activities through introduction followed by demonstrations with ample time for student practice and return demonstrations. Through this repetitive teaching/learning methodology our ultimate goal of successfully teaching skills and theoretical knowledge is achieved.

Our class size is maintained at a small level with a low teacher to student ratio to provide students with personalized assistance with which to achieve success. Classroom times are optimized through the use of instructional assistants to increase the help available to students who may need more one on one assistance.
